要約
昭和4年(1929)設立の東方文化学院京都研究所(現在の京都大学人文科学研究所附属東アジア人文情報学研究センター)は, 昭和9年(1934)8月〜9月に塚本善隆・能田忠亮・小川茂樹・長廣敏雄・森鹿三の5名からなる調査団を中国北部に派遣しており, その際に長廣が撮影した16mmフィルム(モノクロ・サイレント・15分)である. 撮影場所は, 北京(当時は北平)市内の北海公園・正陽門・故宮・観象台, 北京郊外の頤和園仏香閣・香山・明十三陵・房山雲居寺, および山西省大同の雲岡寺などである. 撮影技術が未熟なせいもあり, 各カットが短い上に逆光となっている箇所も散見されるが, 当時の中国を伝える貴重な映像である.
A documentary film about a survey of Beijing and its suburbs, Datong (Shanxi), etc. by researchers from Toho Bunka Gakuin Kyoto Kenkyujo (Kyoto Institute, Academy of Oriental Culture; predecessor of Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University), in August-September 1934.
