Formally released the new Kyoto University Digital Archive System

The Kyoto University Digital Archive System has been renewed and released to the public on April 1, 2026*.

The new digital data service allows you to easily browse digitized archival materials, including images, videos, and audio files.  The advanced search feature and finding aids have been reorganized into a specialized service.  This finding aids service can be accessed from the details page of each collection or material in the digital data service.

Access to the URLs of the previous digital archive system (under "https://peek.rra.museum.kyoto-u.ac.jp"), which was online until March 18, 2026, will be redirected to the corresponding URLs of the new digital data service (under "https://da.rra.museum.kyoto-u.ac.jp").  If you have bookmarked a URL for the old system, please update it to one of the new system's URLs, depending on your needs.

The ARKs (Archival Resource Keys) that were published thus far will be redirected to the URL of the corresponding material in the digital data service if the material has digitized data, or to the URL in the finding aids service (under "https://keep.rra.museum.kyoto-u.ac.jp") if the material doesn't have digitized data or the URL is for authority data. Otherwise, the URLs from the previous system will be redirected to the top page of the digital data service. We kindly ask for your understanding.

* The pilot version of the new digital data service was released on March 18, 2026. The pilot version of the new finding aids service was first released internally at Kyoto University on May 7, 2025, and then to the public on March 18, 2026.  Both were formally released to the public on April 1, 2026.

** The finding aids service also includes descriptive information about the materials in the digital data service.
