京都大学総合博物館蔵キリシタン関係資料, ca. 1920-2004. The Kyoto University Museum Collection: Photographs of Japanese Christian Relics, ca.1920-2004.

京都大学総合博物館は, 茨木市の山間の民家に伝えられた宗教絵画「紙本著色聖母十五玄義・聖体秘跡図」（通称「マリア十五玄義図」, 2001年に重要文化財に指定）を所蔵している. このコレクションは, 京都大学が「マリア十五玄義図」をはじめとするキリシタン遺物研究を進める中で残された写真を集めたものである. 「マリア十五玄義図」が発見された頃の写真を含むガラス乾板写真, 国立歴史民俗博物館との共同研究で撮影した光学分析写真, 2004年度の全面修復時の写真の三つの内容から成り, 「マリア十五玄義図」のいわばすべてを記録した貴重な画像資料である. The Kyoto University Museum possesses a religious painting discovered at a house in Ibaraki, "Colored paper painting of the Madonna with the Infant Jesus and Her Fifteen Mysteries." (a.k.a. "15 Mysteries of Mary," designated as a nationally important cultural property in 2001.) Numbers of photos were taken in research activities at Kyoto University about "15 Mysteries of Mary" and other Japanese Christian relics, and they were organized in this collection. It consists of three parts: glass plate photos including photos at the time when "15 Mysteries of Mary" was discovered, optical-analysis photos that was taken in a joint research with National Museum of Japanese History, and photos of the overall restoration process in 2004. It is a collection of precious image materials that shows all about "15 Mysteries of Mary," in a way.
