Dr. Kazuo Huzita (geology) participated in the Kyoto University Scientific Expedition (KUSE) to the Karakoram and Hindukush in 1955. The materials he created and collected include route maps that show the itinerary of the expedition, as well as the locations where photographs were taken and rock specimens were collected.
This is one of those route maps: the Biafo Glacier route map. The KUSE geological team left Gilgit at the end of May and entered the Biafo Glacier in late July. They traversing the glacier over the course of a week before reaching Hispar Pass. The description at the bottom of the map indicates that the team had identified a fault running parallel to the glacier.
